You can hardly tell it is there - apparently people are kept more involved with other things in Boston and don't have the need or the time for this type of self expression.
This is the sort of graffiti that defaces. The beautiful building and street are obviously historically important - such a pity, but at least it is quite small. Good spotting!!!
I don't know if I can say "a piece of art", but I did notice how strangely the mail box sits on top of that cement piece. It's like the whole thing was plopped down right there!
Really interesting point you made on my blog about Paramount Pictures, clueless! No the building is not still owned by Paramount. Maybe they have a licence deal? Maybe it will disappear and my photo will be the only record?
That photo is beautiful and the graffiti is so subtle, it almost looks like a decoration.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun Theme Day, Jim!
Graffiti on Revere Street---I wonder what old Paul would have to say about this! Happy Theme Day!
ReplyDeleteLooks liek a ribbon. Not like Green Boy!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great image witht he shadow on the bricks
ReplyDeleteA lovely lamp spoilt. Great photo though.
ReplyDeleteBut it is subtle indeed!! Great choice!!!!!
ReplyDeletewell, in my book, this one falls clearly into the vandalism category.

ReplyDeleteLove the photo. As I said on Quincy, some cities have a lot of street art and some little. I like how you've taken this photograph.

ReplyDeleteThis kind of graffiti is such a nuisance; I guess someone will paint it over sometime. Interesting photo though; love the shadows.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful street lamp, and a crazy place for a Post Office relay box.
ReplyDeleteNice shot!
The shadow of the clock on the brick wall is an added bonus!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very small work of graffiti.
ReplyDeleteNice photo. I think it looks more like some decoration!
ReplyDeleteI like the symbolism of it being on Revere Street!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm old fashioned and put that one in the vandalism category, too. :) But, the script is nice...
ReplyDeleteI love the surrounding scene very much!
It would be a beautiful scene if not for the tag. I hope they paint over it quickly.
ReplyDeleteThere it is, hi Jim...I always like looking at lamp photos...thats spray paint on the bin right? true it looks like a deco...
ReplyDeleteThat is very subtle grafitti - I hope they paint over it, but I suppose if they do someone else will be along soon enough to deface it again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on Glasgow DP :)
Very nice photograph. Until I enlarged the image, it's looks like a part of design.
ReplyDeleteI guess Boston doesn't have much graffiti, judging by your example. Nice street light though.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of the graffiti. I love the street lamp!
ReplyDeleteIf there's a will there's a way :) I like the colour they chose to spray paint the wall.

ReplyDeleteA lovely old lamp, i didn't even notice the graffiti straight away.
ReplyDeletesimple graffiti.
ReplyDelete(if there's such a thing haha..)
I nearly did not spot it!
Happy Theme Day!
What an artful photo! I love the shadow and the prominence it has. The tag is as subtle as a chop mark on Chinese script.

I can't make out what it says (or means). But the way you photographed it with the Revere name gives it added irony. Here is my CDP: Street Art entry (too late for the list). Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo--I like the shadow of the lamp on the bricks.
ReplyDeleteThe shadow from the light fixture is intense, very nice.
ReplyDeleteI too like the irony of Revere street. Good choice.
