Filene's


Site of the former Filene's Dept. Store in Downtown Crossing. Construction has halted and all that remains is a building facade and a big hole in the ground covering one city block.

    Ah...I didn't know Filene's was going out...I shopped there once - in 1976...

    I have been wondering about that hole in the ground. They stopped because of the economy? Is it official?

    I loved Filene's Basement. Sad pic. Loving this blog though. You're pics are amazing. Trotted across from the Quincy blog. After my stint in Wollaston, I lived on Beacon Hill for a while and the pics make me SO homesick for the U.S.A.
