This weeks doorway is a little departure from my usual Wednesday doorway and is instead a close up of a church door. I found this to be of more interest than the whole doorway. For those curious about such things, the door is from Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Newbury Street.
So much detail in the door. They just don't make them like this anymore.
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful with this door knob. Is it made of bronze? I like this photo.
ReplyDeleteThis is just fabulous. I love it. Recently I posted something very similar on Menton - an old door in Rue Longue. Always love old doors, door knobs and door knockers. The photo with its shadow is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteKnock, knock? I'm not sure it's a knocker but it's a perfect b&w shot!
ReplyDeletesuch a creative shot.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! It looks like something that you would find in Europe and not Boston! You found such a treasure!
ReplyDeleteThe detail the craftsman used is just amazing.
ReplyDeleteFantastic picture and lovely detail!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations
Kind Regards
Léia :-)
It did not need "globalisation" this close up could have been done in many places in the world
ReplyDeleteA nice invitation to enter..
A door always tells me to look beside it, inside the room it locks..especially with this kind of picture, the black and white adds a little touch of mystery..
ReplyDeleteI new right away it was a church door. Look at how holely it is!
ReplyDeleteI am even surprises from your daily photos. They all are unique and this one shows outstanding ability.
ReplyDeleteThe patterns, the shadow, the tonal range, all great, and B&W to boot. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI do like this. Old knockers are always a joy to behold and worth pawing over for a while. What a good idea: Wednesday Doorway. Shall have to trace back your label.
ReplyDeleteWonderful contrast, composition and light. Nice one.
