This month's theme for City Daily Photo Blogs is feet. I captured these feet at the National Archives in Washington standing on a raised glass platform over a map of the Gettysburg battle field.

Glass over a map that you can walk on and see? Wow, what a concept; those feet with the shadows really help to illustrate it. I like this in black and white.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great way to explore a map, except that people tend to be a bit preoccupied and bump into eachother :) A very nice photo.
ReplyDeletelovely combo image!
ReplyDeleteHappy theme day. Please check out my blog.
ReplyDeleteSuperb - at first I thought that they were skaiting:)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
How fascinating to learn where these people are standing. For a moment I thought they were on ice-skates as they appear to be raised but now I understand. Really original choice.
ReplyDeleteExcellent mono, good composition.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot full of history, and in monochrome which to me gives it all the more atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteOptical illusion too looks like he's levitating. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done.
ReplyDeleteFloating feet! Fantastic photo!
ReplyDeleteI "visited" such a map in Paris. It's funny because it gives you a kind of vertigo, and the feeling to be the king of the world..It's also interesting because it gives a total view of a situation.Good illustration for a bit difficult theme..
ReplyDeleteI was wondering why they seemed to be floating. Cool shot!
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool! Before I read the text, I was trying to figure out how the illusion of floating was accomplished! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to combine both themes! Looks like they are floating :)
ReplyDeleteGood photo and great way to combine the two themes in one!
ReplyDeleteYou done good for both memes! Interesting idea to make the floor map visible but not get ruined.
ReplyDeleteI also left a comment on two others below because I came back to see your bench and got interested in them too.
Beautiful b & w shot and great choice to illustrate this June theme!
ReplyDeleteI almost can feel some balance like some dancers do!

Before I read your post I thought you stumbled onto magician :)
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! I was wondering about the shadows until I read the part about the raised glass.
ReplyDeleteI thought this feet were in mid-air! What an intruiging capture for Theme Day.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Jilly saw ice skates too - for a minute there I thought I was nuts!
ReplyDeleteVery cool shot.
It really looks like he is walking on air!!
ReplyDeletereally cool.
well this is unique. floating feet and good eye for you to notice. quite an effect
ReplyDeleteAh, it's raised glass. Thta's why it looks as if they're not quite there! Lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteExcellent contribution to the CDP theme day. It looks like a great place for hopscotch. *lol* Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteBuenos Aires Photo
It is an optical illusion - I thought they were on skates at first and standing in little square sections. How weird, I thought. Intriguing photo of a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot! Very clever to choose this location!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun shot - very interesting to look at.
ReplyDeleteFor a second with the shadows under their feet it looked like they had roller skates on too!
ReplyDeletePS. Henry the VIII will always be known Henry Cherrystone in my mind now:)
Neat in B&W. I like the shadows!
