Cannons at Antietam, one of the major battles of the American Civil War, 1861-1865. Today is Memorial Day in the U.S. and all veterans who have served in the Armed Forces are honored and remembered.
Great photo I love it! Have a nice week and thanks for a poem you left on my blog. Wow, I'm impressed:)You'r not only great photographer but also a poet!
Cannons make beautyful pictures as soon as they become useless..The sepia gives a mood that matches very well with the memory of the American Civil War. (here, we call it the Secession War). Have a nice week!
Very nice! I like the closeup! We have a couple cannons near the Military Reserve here in town that high school students built as replicas of ones used in our history. I never thought about taking a photo of them from an angle like you did -- thanks!
Wonderful tribute! This b & w picture is fabulous, you prepared the right angle for this shot! By the way, I read your poem that you left in Joo's blog! You have a pure and special talent, so sensitive and delicate!Congratulations! Now...I'm envious because I "want"a poem in my blog too! LOL just kidding! Have a nice week God bless you Léia
A beautiful photo to commemorate and thank your veterans with.
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say that I really hate weapons of all kinds, no matter how artistic they look :(
Great photo I love it!

Great shot. Nice vintage!
ReplyDeleteAn unusual shot, I like it. Have a good holiday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful perspective and depth of field. The mono processing only serves to further enhance what is already a very fine shot.
ReplyDeleteOh such beautiful sepia color:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit.
Ditto Robin. Really nice work, Clueless.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I love clean images like this one. Nice job! :-)
ReplyDeleteA strong image of these cannons. Both perspective and b&w works very well here.
ReplyDeleteA very suitable uniformed picture to coincide with remembrance...

ReplyDeleteHow can weapons of death and destruction look so attractive?
ReplyDeleteThis is a very fine photo!
It's an unusual for today since most of the Memorial Day posts have flags or tombstones featured. A welcome change and creative "shot."
