Night baseball at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I. The night I was there the Paw Sox were hammered by the division leading Scranton Yankees 14-1.
The black line you see in the middle of the picture is a seam of the netting behind home plate to prevent accidents from foul balls.
Very nice night photo:)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, so cool!! but i dont understand a shit about basseball :-(
ReplyDeleteAmerican football eather...
Have a realy nice sunday my friend.
A beautyful picture of a game that will forever stay a mystery for Europeans ...
ReplyDeleteGreat night shot.
ReplyDeleteNight baseball... gotta love it. You captured this from a great angle! Love this shot! WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really wonderful shot. The color is magical. You capture the mood of the night game beautifully. And the netting softens the picture in such a tender way. You're down in my older daughter's neck of the woods when you're in Pawtucket.
ReplyDeleteFabulous evening shot!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever heard of the Paw Sox or the Scranton Yankees, but we only get the major league games here so I'm not surprised.
It's always those damn Yankees.
ReplyDeleteBaseball must be an interesting sport! But here in Brazil it is virtually unknown...

An unseemly seam, but I probably wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.
ReplyDeleteI like the panoramic view of this shot...
:-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous night shot!
ReplyDeleteBaseball must be in the air this weekend in NE.
ReplyDeleteA Great American Photo. I love baseball but I've only been to one minor league game - saw the Des Moines Cubs when I was in town on business. This is a nice illustration of the charm of these venues. The family happened to go to the Cardinals - Royals game today and there was nothing of this intimate beauty.
ReplyDeletewhoa, so crisp and clean. Excellent nightime photo.
ReplyDeleteAmazing colours in the sky and the floodlit baseball field. The net seems to add to the picture.
ReplyDeleteToo bad they didn't win that night. I hear good things about that stadium and would love to visit someday to see some future Red Sox and some former Sea Dogs.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shot of a baseball field at night ...
ReplyDeleteAlmost from another time.
Great shot. One would think it would be really hard to play baseball at night.
ReplyDeletePea green with envy! I just love baseball.. I'm actually drinking a beer and eating a baguette while I reading your blog... somehow my brewskie is fitting! All I need is a hot dog now:)
ReplyDeleteThe beer is a very good Leffe:)
ReplyDeleteNever, ever, good for Sox of any kind to be beaten by Yankees of any kind. :D
