Wednesday Doorway

This week's doorway is the entrance to the subway station at Government Center. As you can see, this station connects two subway lines, the Blue Line and the Green Line.

  1. Another great masterpiece of doorways. Image build-up with diagonal lines is beautiful!

  2. Oh great! I love it. I never see the outside of Gov. Center as I am always coming in to town from the North Shore and switch from blue to green inside. It's been so long since I've walked that part of town had forgotten what it looks like.

  4. So different of what we know here...
The buildings behind make me think of the paintings of Edward Hopper. I like those red bricks.

  9. Not having any subways here, I'm always amazed at the variety of designs for their entrances in the U.S. and Europe. I find it fascinating. This one looks like it's buttressed!

  11. I am one of the "fortunate" subway riders exiting and entering this doors several times a week. Onw of the real treasures of this staion is the old scolly square sign at the entrance to one of the tunnels. One of the actual remnants of scolly square.
I have never met charlie of the MBTA or his wife waiting to give him some food.
