Are You Sure You're Going to Heaven?


A modern fire and brimstone tirade about going to hell in Harvard Square. I was struck by the irony of the sensual backdrop: a painting of a semi-nude woman looking over his shoulder as he draws and shouts through his wireless microphone about the perils of modern life and going to hell.

The backdrop is an advertisement for an exhibit of Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese: Rivals in Renaissance Venice at the Museum of Fine Arts. A great antidote to the perils of modern life and a fine way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

    We have those here in Minneapolis too, and they should be out anytime now that the weather is warmer. I find them somewhat entertaining.

    There was one of those in the common a few weeks ago as well, outside the Park T station, with no microphone - much harder work.
    Is this getting to be a regular thing there?

    Thank goodness there's no such thing in the places I usually go to. Though I wouldn't mind having that exhibit here any time.

    I like the backdrop a whole lot better than the ranter...

    That's the hell of it, these characters in public places berating citizens out to enjoy the fresh air.
