This week's Monochrome Monday photo is a street performer who works as a living statue; we saw her yesterday in Fanueil Hall. Here though, she is a little out of character in the subway on her way home. Follow this link to see other Monochrome Maniacs and their pictures this week.
Love the way you can see a color version of the living statue below. Perfect for black and white. What a great part of town for her to perform!
ReplyDeleteYou and your pictures with people in it, just love them all you know...
ReplyDeleteI am not so god at that yet, need some more practise...
And living statues is oll over the world, some very very good, some very bad og course... Seen them in Oslo and Cophenhagen this summer.
Nice week to you. Hugs from Anne.
Beautiful shot! I found this kind of "artist" in Brazil, but for now I could not see it in Luxembourg.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week

Bonjour Luxembourg
I like this photo, is so intriguing!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week:)
There is something about the picture that catches the imagination - even without the back story.
ReplyDeletea true classic
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photograph. I almost expect to hear that it was a poster one could buy.
ReplyDeleteYes it *is* poster stuff. Simply incredible photography.
ReplyDeleteA female Midnight Cowboy - shining the subway. A great shot.
ReplyDeleteSuperb, Clueless. It's always interesting to see 'behind the scenes' shots and you've caught this one with such understatement that you've exponentially increased its impact.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photo! As a follow up to your previous post, it's really a cool series of photos.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder about what Mimes talk about when they get together.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it does look like a poster! That is an incredible shot.
ReplyDeleteA very melancholic shot..A lot of stories behind.. a very inspiring picture: what happens the the cow-girl mimes when they have to go back home with their work's costum?..
ReplyDeleteAh, that incredible moment:beautiful shot and contrast.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Perfection in B&W. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteYou really tell a story with your shots, even without reading one single word.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed!
And I love your work!
I've put you in my blogroll if that's not ok with you, please let me know :)
Have a great week!
Anna
Nice contrast to yesterdays photo!
ReplyDeleteI have seen some wonderful 'living statues' in Venice and in New Orleans, my next visit to Boston I must see if I see this person
ReplyDeletenthing all the others - it's a great composition and in b/w it has this special tristesse ...
ReplyDeleteI saw your post yesterday and just didn't know what to make of it. I couldn't imagine doing something like that. There is no way I could stand still for that long let alone not talk!
ReplyDeleteLove those - saw them in Paris first. The face is so heavily bronzed it is unreal when you see that statue has eyes and is blinking. Some people stare at them long time waiting to catch the Mim in "action". Great photos! Lovely street artist!
ReplyDeleteLots of levels of monochromatic interest here - thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and in a way I think catching her out of character made the photograph that much more interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis is superb! She looks forlorn! Probably thinking she has to do that same act again tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteMonochrome is her element - she doesn't look out of place in your picture of her.
ReplyDeleteThese people fascinate me...
ReplyDeleteThey are so patient in there act.
You have captured her very well, super image.
p,s, the tyres had the same effect on me, I expected someone to jump through.lol...It was just a selling display at a show...clever?...:-)
Love this image! Would not be the same in color. One of the few times I prefer bw. Very nicely done!!
ReplyDeletethis looks so old-worldly and nostalgia infused, i love it
ReplyDeleteI agree it looks very old worldly.
ReplyDeleteGreat image.
Such an interesting job, I think, to be a living statue.
