Iron Railing

Winter light accents the edges on the iron railing of the Park Street Church on Tremont Street.

    I am sorry that I missed a few days due to the holidays, but I was pleased to see your photo of the Appalachian Mountain Club. I bet the Governor of South Carolina had wished that he had really been "hiking the Appalachian Trial" instead of being caught having an affair in Argentina.

    When I worked as the Legislative Director for Congressman Goodloe Byron of Maryland in the 1970's, Congressman Byron sponsored the law that preserved the Appalachian Trail. Until then, the preservation of the trail relied on the cooperation of individual states and private landowners. If one of them let things lapse or changed their mind, the trail would not be a continuous path from Maine to Georgia.
