I like the perspective in this one; looks like you either used a wider angle, or used a zoom at the wide end. I love wide angle lenses.
Re. your question on scanning old shots. I use a Minolta Dimage scanner which scans 35mm negatives and 35mm slides, I don't scan the print. I have tried scanning prints on my flatbed scanner, and they always come out with a line pattern from the scanner head; that may be my scanner and some better ones might not do that. It takes time scanning the negs, but I much prefer that method.
I, too, like this perspective the best. The curved lines make the image more interesting to me and keep my eye in the photo longer. The people give the picture nice scale and I like the way you caught them in the light.
Seen this way, the place would be a perfect set for a SCI-FI history..

So, thanks for the glass globes which most certainly would shed some light on the subject should they be turned on!
An almost monochromatic image with few patches of color and a contrasting geometry of lines and round shapes.
