Rose Kennedy Greenway

It's hard to believe this area used to be the elevated expressway that cut through the heart of the city. After the highway was torn down and the road moved underground as part of the "Big Dig," the city reclaimed the land under and named it in honor of Rose Kennedy.

Here is another view from last December of the Greenway.

I love this photo! I think that it's really challenging to get a photo of the greenway that really shows it off as a little natural paradise without showing the surface road next to it...and you did it! Great shot.

I've heard of reclaiming recreational land from old railways before but never I think a highway - excellent news.

Oh wow, that sounds like an amazing feat—and the result is beautiful! May I please ask, how long did it take to demolish the highway and build this Greenway?

Running through those fountains looks a marvelous way to spend a day!
