I just found out through the radio, a terrible tragedy. My sincere condolences to the victims, I hope the injured will recover soon.

Jim, you were right there! I was a bit afraid to check your blog but I'm very glad you're okay.

It is a terrible thing to happen. I don't know what to say, it feels too close - people like us who live in big cities and take part in races or stand on the sidelines to support them. It could happen to any one of us.

Such a vibrant, cheerful photo - what happened later is still incredibly difficult to comprehend, and so terribly heartbreaking. How surreal it must seem to you! I'm sure glad you're okay, and hope your friends and loved ones are as well.
