Wednesday Doorway

This week's doorway is located on Kingston Street. The building has been closed for a few years and a few enterprising souls have decorated this doorway with graffiti. I featured a picture of the entire building last Fall; and you can see a similar photo on Boston Daily Photo from February of this year.

Iron hand

I saw this iron ornamentation on Trinity Church in Copley Square. It appears that different metals were used in its fabrication because of the color of the hand holding the ring.

View from Lovell's Island

View of the Boston skyline from Lovell's Island in Boston Harbor, part of the Boston Harbor National Park Area. Lovell's Island is a favorite camping island, with hiking trails, picnic areas, an unsupervised swimming beach, and the remains of Fort Standish. Low tide exposes an additional 71 acres, for a total size of 120 acres.

Wednesday Doorway

This week's doorway is Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) at Fanueil Hall. Its stores are primarily in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Though founded in 1892 and originally a "guns and fishing rods" type company, it is now an American lifestyle brand company that markets youth apparel with very edgy advertising.

Rose Kennedy Greenway

It's hard to believe this area used to be the elevated expressway that cut through the heart of the city. After the highway was torn down and the road moved underground as part of the "Big Dig," the city reclaimed the land under and named it in honor of Rose Kennedy.

Here is another view from last December of the Greenway.

July 2008 Theme Day: "No . . ." signs

My contribution to this month's theme is the No Stopping sign at the corner of Beacon and Park Streets in front of the State House. Discreetly hung from the state house is the new banner proclaiming our Celtics as NBA Champs:)

This month's theme is the word "No" on a sign in your city. No matter how you say it in your language: nae, nahi, ne, neen, nei, nein, nĂ hea, nie, non, nu, nyet or just plain NO, have a great theme day. I hope you can visit as many of the other participating blogs as possible.
