Marathon Day

Today is Patriots' Day in Massachusetts and also the 114th BAA Boston Marathon race. The flower box on Beacon Street sets the tone for the day across much of Massachusetts as everyone is consumed with race results and of friends that may be running. Click here to view my pictures of last year's finish line.

Love that flower box. It's a shoe in for most creative image of the day.

34 years ago for our one year Anniversary, went to Boston for nite, drove to Hopkinton(sp?) in AM, saw start, in loads of traffic drove back to B-town and saw the winning runners cross. Strange day, indeed!
LOVE your post!

This is fun and very appropriate for today's Boston Marathon. I did notice that there is an odd number of running shoes here . . . I wonder where the left one is.

A good idea for the runners stuck in Europe ,
they can use their shoes as decoration!!!

Funny idea. The shoes are fit enough to hold flowers.
