A dying breed

A quiet moment reading the newspaper outside the Orange Line subway station at Downtown Crossing.

The effect of the coloured glass on the pavement [sidewalk] really makes the shot. Gorgeous here in the UK today and supposed to last through the weekend.

Wonderful shadows -- very unique. And, you're right...that person is a dying breed. Nowadays, typically, you see someone reading their smart phone.

Love the light. Most interesting, is the fact it isn't raining.

Most attractive - and it makes a change from the dreary canopies normally associated with subways.

The shadow of the stained glass is marvellous.

Everything everyone had said before about the stained glass! Poor reader, nobody has an interest in her ;-) - even her t-shirt matches the orange of the subway entrance.

The light passing through the glass canopy is wonderful.

I would need strong glasses to read my paper through those great colored reflections.

PS: How do you know about my French accent!!! ;~))

Very nice shot. I like the colourful reflexion of the roof. A nice place for reading the paper indeed.

I like that sign "Street cleaning 2 am - 7am" - does it take them 5 hours? !!

I really like this image. You caught everything just right. I wonder how much longer we will have the pleasure of reading the daily news on paper . . .

Indeed a dying breed. «Louis» hasn't bought a newspaper since 1995...
