Theme Day: Feet & Monochrome Monday

This month's theme for City Daily Photo Blogs is feet. I captured these feet at the National Archives in Washington standing on a raised glass platform over a map of the Gettysburg battle field. View thumbnails for all participants in the Feet Theme.

It's also Monochrome Monday! To view other Black + White photos, please visit the Home of Monochrome Maniacs.

Glass over a map that you can walk on and see? Wow, what a concept; those feet with the shadows really help to illustrate it. I like this in black and white.

It's a great way to explore a map, except that people tend to be a bit preoccupied and bump into eachother :) A very nice photo.

Superb - at first I thought that they were skaiting:)
Have a nice week!

How fascinating to learn where these people are standing. For a moment I thought they were on ice-skates as they appear to be raised but now I understand. Really original choice.

Fantastic shot full of history, and in monochrome which to me gives it all the more atmosphere!

I "visited" such a map in Paris. It's funny because it gives you a kind of vertigo, and the feeling to be the king of the world..It's also interesting because it gives a total view of a situation.Good illustration for a bit difficult theme..

I was wondering why they seemed to be floating. Cool shot!

That's really cool! Before I read the text, I was trying to figure out how the illusion of floating was accomplished! Very nice.

Great way to combine both themes! Looks like they are floating :)

Good photo and great way to combine the two themes in one!

You done good for both memes! Interesting idea to make the floor map visible but not get ruined.

I also left a comment on two others below because I came back to see your bench and got interested in them too.

Beautiful b & w shot and great choice to illustrate this June theme!
I almost can feel some balance like some dancers do!

I'm glad Jilly saw ice skates too - for a minute there I thought I was nuts!

Excellent contribution to the CDP theme day. It looks like a great place for hopscotch. *lol* Just kidding.

It is an optical illusion - I thought they were on skates at first and standing in little square sections. How weird, I thought. Intriguing photo of a great idea.

For a second with the shadows under their feet it looked like they had roller skates on too!

PS. Henry the VIII will always be known Henry Cherrystone in my mind now:)
