Remembering

Yesterday there was an attack by a gunman at the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., and a security guard was killed. These are some of the stones and pebbles left at the New England Holocaust Memorial in Boston. Leaving stones is a tradition meant to honor the memory of the deceased. Today another stone will have to be added to the memorial.

very touching and I learned a new way to honor the memory of someone. Very nice composition. Thanks for your comments about Camelback Mountain and the Phoenician resort. You could go visit as they have great deals for summer. But in summer we live in pools or in air conditioning. I know how much you love great front doors and I have one coming up in the next few days that you will like.

A stone for a soul...
This way to remember is very moving, because it's very simple, easy, and strong at the same time.

Thanks for posting this, Clueless. An 88 year old man still filled with such hatred...a guard who is the latest victim of the Holocaust. Will this ever stop?

It's all so sad. When will it ever quit! And it's getting worse again all over the world! What's with these idiots!

Love your photo - it gives an effective and dramatic presentation of the meaning of the stones!

Very touching post today. I work across the street from this memorial and can attest to the many people who stop and leave stones every day and every night. Very touching.

I didn't see these stones when I was there, probably back in 2002 or 2003. Is this a recent addition to the memorial in Boston? I do like the inter-activity this affords ...
