Surreal Snow

A snow storm was predicted for Boston on Wednesday and all the meteorologists were continuously warning us for days of the large amounts of impending snow coming our way. Many people stayed home, businesses closed early and public schools closed. Reality was quite a bit different as you can see from this photo I took about 3:00pm. Yes, that is a snowplow parked and waiting for the snow, along with everyone else. It was pretty surreal with an almost empty downtown.

We did get some snow later, but only a couple of inches. I wish I could be wrong as much as meteorologists are and still keep my job, but then I'm not in the entertainment meteorology field.

The reflections and colors are fantastic! I hope you continue to miss out on the blizzards.

Incredible photo! Our meteorologists haven't been wrong about snow since November, and the darn white things just keep falling and falling and falling....... I feel like I moved to northern Europe or Canada.

I don't usually go for all the photoshop filter effects; used to do it and then stopped. However, I do like this one, quite a mix of what look like neon edges, posterize etc which gives a great effect.

The picture looks like a modern painting!
Weathermen are so afraid to miss something and then to be responsible that they prefer to predict the worst!

As we say in France, I'll "cross my fingers" for your job!(It means I 'll hope very strongly you'll keep it..)

I agree with your words. Here is snowing again, I can say I'm not happy, because I'm really tired about winter...anyway, it's an unusual winter, all people says. :)
And congratulations, this picture is brilliant, I loved it!

I love the colored reflections! Do you ever wonder if the winter weather is sponsored by the grocery stores?

According to the news you folks have received a lot of snow in the last day or so. At least family in the DC suburb of Maryland say they have gotten 34 inches in the last several days. That should give the snow plows something to do.

Fun colors on this one!

Lol, don't you just love it when they say "rain in Boston right now" on the radio/telly and you look outside and there isn't a cloud to spoil the view? Happens all the time...
Love the treatment here.

The winter is surreal this year! Here we are struggling with another heavy snowfall and everything is white:)

Funny commentary; great photo. Looks like you posterized it!

Heh-Heh!! The same thing happens here in Seattle, too. Granted, we do have some serious hills to deal with, but still ... the 50-50 principal of forecasting is a pretty sweet deal. At least until you go to the grocery store and everybody wants to know what happened and how could you possibly been so far off with your forecast. Glad I'm not a weatherman!

It is an intriguingly processed photo - would make a cool poster I think.
