XV Beacon Street Hotel
Small boutique hotel on Beacon Street. I think a small hotel calling itself a "boutique hotel" is just another way of saying "we're really expensive and have small rooms."

Swan Boats
The swan boats have all been put away for the season, so I thought I would show one I took a few weeks ago.

Paving the streets
I went out walking at lunchtime today and saw workers paving Franklin Street. I always thought this was done at night so as not to inconvenience traffic, to say nothing of pedestrians.
City streets are loud and congested enough without these giant beasts chewing up and spitting out gravel during the day. I know it has to be done, but maybe night time would be better.

Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial
A memorial to all the fallen Massachusetts Firefighters was dedicated at the State House on Tuesday, the anniversary of 9/11. The statue is 11 feet high and weighs 3,000 pounds. It took nine months to design but more than nine years to raise the money and backing to erect it. All around the statue are listed the names of fallen firefighters and the cities and towns they gave their lives for.

Girls just want to have fun!
What can be more fun than to run barefoot through a series of waterfalls while daddy and big sister (not in frame) have to wait. Girls just want to have fun!

Street Medallion
I noticed this on the sidewalk and walked past it. I stopped and did a double-take, literally. I realized if I didn't go back and take a picture I would regret it and never be able to find it again. Street medallions generally go unnoticed by most of us, but some can be quite artistic and even colorful.
I did a search on the name and all I could find were links to Fenway Park. It appears that this was a construction company and was involved in a 1934 renovation at Fenway Park. I'm sure if I went to the library and did some old fashioned research I might be able to find more information. Does anyone recognize the name?

Fenway Park
I caught these two security guys at Fenway standing alone and silhouetted against the sky. They were alone in the picture for just a few seconds, but I got the shot I wanted.

Beaver Place
September 1st is Street Signs and Street Lights theme day for CDPB. I wonder if this street is named after the old tv show Leave it to Beaver?
