Painting in the Public Garden

I met this woman last month as she was painting near (but not) the George Washington statue. I didn't get her name, but she did tell me she exhibits in Provincetown on Cape Cod, and in Maine.

Painting in the Public Garden

Warmer weather brought out people in droves to the Common and the Public Garden today. This guy was painting in the Public Garden and was so totally focused on his painting that when I asked if I could photograph him, I think his grunt was yes. He didn't even turn his attention away from his canvas for even a second when I took a couple of shots.

People's Republik

This mural caught my eye as I was walking on Massachusetts Ave in Central Square yesterday. It is on a bar named the People's Republik - some of the letters on the sign are reversed to simulate Cyrillic script. A nice little joke since Cambridge is referred to around here as the People's Republic of Cambridge because of its tendency to left wing causes.
