Theme Day May 2009 - Shadows

Today is the first day of the month and is theme day for the City Daily Photo Blog (CDPB) community. My photo for theme day is one of the stairways from the foot bridge in the Boston Public Garden.

City Daily Photo Blogs from all over the world participate in Theme Day and thumbnails of each participant can be viewed by clicking this link.

Monochrome Monday - Stairs

Today is Monday and it's time to get back to work. It's also the day for many of us to post a b&w photo. We can all be found at the Home of Monochrome Monday. Give the others a visit and leave a comment or two. Have a great week.

These stairs are adjacent to the JFK Federal Building in City Hall Plaza and lead to the North End. I was lucky when I was taking the picture a man appeared in the distance to complete the composition.

Subways and Trains

Incoming train at Park Street Subway Station. I liked the feeling of movement in the picture and the reflection of the woman in the moving train.

Escalator from train platform at South Station takes you up two levels, which can be seen here.

Canopy to South Station subway entrance. An outside view of a shot I took earlier this year can be seen here.

Going Nowhere

This stairway is on Mr. Vernon Street on Beacon Hill (near the intersection of Joy Street). I wonder what happened to the doorway and why it was bricked up; but more importantly, why the granite stairs and railing were not removed too.
