Boston Common

Boston Common yesterday afternoon. The church spire visible in the center of the image is the Park Street Church on the corner of Park and Tremont (Brimstone Corner). The sparkling new glass building in the background is on the site of the old Filene's store, now a 52 story tower in the Downtown Crossing area.

School vacation

I spotted these young girls with the million dollar smiles sitting on the Esplanade yesterday. Actually, I heard them giggling and enjoying themselves before seeing them and couldn't resist asking if I could take their picture. They happily posed for me with their balloons and told me they were from Wellesley and have been on school vacation this week. Don't you wish you looked as good in a balloon hat?

Spring colors

Colors on Marlborough Street in the South End. I took this picture last month. Not every day has been chilly and overcast, and this picture reminds me that we have had some nice days this Spring.

First Sign of Spring in Boston

Finally the temperature reached 80+ degrees in Boston and it feels like Spring might have actually arrived in Boston. This shot is on Beacon Street, just past the Hampshire House.

Sure Sign of Spring

A sure sign of Spring in Boston is the return of the outdoor fruit stand in Downtown Crossing at Summer and Washington Streets.
