Old City Hall

I posted a slightly different photo of this building last week because the photo included the old and new City Halls. The old city hall was slightly cropped in that picture and this magnificent building deserves better and here it is. The picture following is a ground level view of the building.

Two

In the background you can see Boston City Hall and the harbor. In the foreground right, the building with the green roof (copper) is Old City Hall, which is now leased as office space and a steak house.

Josiah Quincy

Statue of Josiah Quincy in front of the Old City Hall. Josiah Quincy (1772-1864) was mayor of Boston, a municipal court judge, and a president of Harvard College.

You can see the house he grew up in, in Quincy, Massachusetts here.

Here is a full-size view of Old City Hall. The Quincy statue is on the right. [click the image to enlarge it]

Old City Hall

Old City Hall. Such a beautiful building, and made more so when compared to the monstrosity it was replaced by.
