Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are in the NBA Playoffs and the state house has hung a large banner off its front portico in their honor. The state house has done the same thing for other local sports teams. I'm not much of a basketball fan, so this picture is for my oldest son who is a big fan.

Tracks to nowhere
Train tracks lead into a vacant building on the Boston waterfront. This building was built in 1940 to help build ships but is now empty and vacant. As in many cities in the U.S. that used to play important roles in shipbuilding, that industry is now a thing of the past.

Spring colors
Colors on Marlborough Street in the South End. I took this picture last month. Not every day has been chilly and overcast, and this picture reminds me that we have had some nice days this Spring.

Wednesday Doorway
Today's doorway is the Boston Fire Museum on Congress Street. Tomorrow I will show you what lurks in the other doorway. I'm sure you can see it if you enlarge this picture.

Picture this
Parents and their children crowded around the most popular attraction in the Public Garden, the Make Way for Duckling statues near the Charles Street entrance.
Click Here for a different view of the ducklings. I took this shot a few months ago when the park was a little less crowded:)

Wednesday Doorway (on Thursday)
I usually post a doorway on Wednesday but forgot, so I am posting it today. I don't know how it happened, but I've been so preoccupied with other things lately it just slipped by me. Has this ever happened to you?
This doorway caught my attention because of the simplicity of the arch and also because it was being newly painted and spruced up.

Steeple and crane
A view of the old and the new in Boston, represented by the almost 200 year old Park Street Church and a luxe condo building going up behind it. Other views of the construction can be seen here.
The building in front of the crane is Suffolk Law School and was featured in yesterday's lantern and Wednesday doorway.
