A warmish late winter day near Fanueil Hall. The temperatures were in the mid- to upper 40s (about 10C). Not generally warm enough to be out without a jacket, but a pleasant change in recent temperatures.

Charles Street MBTA Station
Here is a view of this station from a different angle, and here is one inside. This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago, we don't have nearly as much snow left on the ground and what is left is a dirty gray. Have a great weekend everyone.

Wednesday Doorway - Bromfield Camera
This weeks doorway happens to be of the camera store where I bought my Nikon D40, Bromfield Camera at No. 10 Bromfield Street. I've also bought a number of accessories and a few point and shoot cameras over the years here as well. I wonder how many people end up buying their camera equipment online and not at retail stores. Is price the most important consideration when camera shopping, or is personalized, knowledgeable service worth the extra cost?

Stone bench on the mall at Commonwealth Ave.
Some visitors have asked about the inscription on the bench, and I realize I should have provided that information before, but here it is now.

Out of place
The building in the middle caught my eye as being terribly out of place with the brownstones on either side and the character of the street. All I want to know is what the architect was

Site of the former Filene's Dept. Store in Downtown Crossing. Construction has halted and all that remains is a building facade and a big hole in the ground covering one city block.

Temperatures have changed from the teens to mid-50s resulting in large puddles and small lakes in the downtown area. This shot is from the mall on Commonwealth Avenue. One of the side benefits is I did not have to wear my winter shoes to work for the first time in a few months.

This week's doorway is Cheers, the bar on Beacon Street where everyone knows your name.
Cheers was a tv show in the U.S. that ran for 11 seasons in the 1980s and early 1990s.

February Theme Day: Paths and Passages
My choice for this months theme day is the path over the footbridge in the Boston Public Garden. I liked how the bushes lining the path look like frozen gumdrops with the snow on top. For a look at how other participants in the City Daily Photo Blog community interpreted the Paths and Passages theme click here to view thumbnails for all participants.
