Out of place

The building in the middle caught my eye as being terribly out of place with the brownstones on either side and the character of the street. All I want to know is what the architect was smoking thinking when he designed that building?

It is amazing when one comes across those designs. I happen to work next to a building which is Boston's poster child for bad design. Boston City Hall.

Always a nice photo, thanks I enjoy your blog

It's surprising this ever got planning permission. I was drawn to the row of terraces on the portal and didn't see the odd man out till I enlarged it. A lovely photo.

guess what (and this is why i don't know anything about photography) - i didn't even NOTICE the ugly building in the middle until i read your description! didn't even notice it! what caught my eye was the yellow-ish wooden door! LOVE that door! i would be willing to put up with living beside an ugly building if i could have that door! :)

A tragedy.

you have to wonder what people are thinking. it is one thing to be different and make it work, but quite another to be different and not be appealing to the eye. maybe they wanted more light so added more windows. I would think in the winter that would be a very high heating bill though. Bricks hold the warmth in longer. I am glad you are enjoying the photo series on Arabian horses on my website. I have started with the native Arabian costumes and horses today.

OUt of place I agree, but the light inside must be pretty amazing.. compared to some darker rooms with small windows, in those brownstones..

Probably nice on the inside, but this kind of thing should not be allowed, as simple as that.
