Boston Marathon

Monday was the the 113th BAA Boston Marathon, which begins in Hopkinton and ends in Boston. I was in Copley Square and caught the runners just after they crossed the finish line.

The list of winners can be found on the Boston Marathon website.

Oh...great action shots. It seems that the weather cooperated with the racers. Thanks for your comment on my RT post. That old phone booth was just the shell. I guess it was for decoration!

I used to volunteer for the marathon when I worked for John Hancock. It was one of my favorite things to do. I miss Boston.

A very famous competition, and very well documented. Looked a bit wet this year, but that doesn't matter - I could never have participated anyhow.

PS Thank you for all the nice comments - I'll look forward to the next bench.

These were beautiful...I loved the one of the closeup girls' profiles-just beautiful...it said so much...and I adored the flash of the coverup-that metallic look against the backdrop of the older buildings...just simply beautiful...the humanity and the buildings...well done once again...I'm not a technical person-I just see the emotional content...and I love it.

I like very much your idea of the Marathon finish pictures. These silver blankets give an other dimension to the runners'colors we see usually . Ni

Ah, so very beautiful. Lois Anne has always wanted to run Boston. She ran Disney and NYC but hasn't been able to get to Boston yet...

But then she's not racing anymore - just running...She watched the whole marathon on the computer.

These are just superb photos!
